How many times have you seen a penny on the sidewalk and did not pick it up?
The engineers at NASA decided to send one to Mars on the rover Curiosity.
This Lincoln penny from 1909 is used as a calibration target.
It started off very clean but has collected dust from Mars during Curiosity’s journey.
What I found most fascinating is that even on Mars, In God We Trust.
Wonder why they picked the year 1909? Seems like a valuable penny to send to Mars!
