After work today I decided to check a few things off my list of chores. Everything was going well until I came to a well used and tattered cat tree. Since I live on a  busy street I can usually “re-purpose” unwanted items by placing a “FREE” sign on them and set them at the curb. A couple of weeks ago I was able to re-purpose two litter boxes within 20 minutes to a woman in a Cadillac Escalade??? This is not the first time a Cadillac has driven off with my garbage reusable items. Where was I? Ah yes, the cat tree. This piece of feline furniture was beyond my ability to place on the curb. But wanting to do my best at reducing what goes to the land fill and what could be recycled set me off in a direction I will never attempt again. As my readers, you can learn from my experience that it is better to toss the cat tree into the garbage than it is to disassemble and recycle. Unfortunately for me, I did not discover this until I was half way through the not so rapid disassemble. Now I was committed and the possibility of “FREE” at the curb was no longer an option. It is quite amazing how much “stuff” filters through the carpet on a cat tree…
