Choosing To Be Happy – No. 39

redneck-garage.net choosing to be happy no 39
At times in life we have a heavy heart
But when we stop and get out of our rut
There is always something to make us happy
All we have to do is look around

Today I’m choosing to be happy
Because of a flowering tree
A job assignment where I’m surrounded by great people
An employer who is sympathetic to my plight
Good news in the mail yesterday
And my always happy dog Maggie
Today is a new day
And I’m going to be happy in it

  1. That beautiful tree would make me happy too!
I’m currently thinking on the difference between happy and joyful. I’ve currently come up with this: happy is temporary and fleeting and of the world. Joy is permanent and of God. (This May change as I consider more deeply…)
So may you have joy as well while you are choosing to be happy. 🙂

    1. I would have to agree Mrs. AHC. I do thank God when I see such beauty in His creation and when both good and bad things happen. The bad things also make me look for the lessons He is going to teach me. Right now I am saturated with learning.

I have met people in my life who are happy all the time and always have a smile on their face. Nothing seems to rattle their cage. They are either truly happy and filled with joy or really good at hiding how they feel. Now you have me thinking about the difference between happiness and joy, which the latter I did not tag for this post. This will no doubt lead to a word study and a blog post. 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to comment and sharing your thoughts!
