I’ve been looking forward to this hour of the 1 Day 1 World Project since late June. I had the opportunity to help a friend by giving them a ride to Alameda for an appointment. While I was waiting, Maggie and I went for a walk along the shoreline. The Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach was restored several years ago due to erosion. The cooler weather next to the bay was a welcome relief from the higher inland temperatures.
There is something about hiking near salt water that is completely different and refreshing. I need to visit this beach again very soon…
Walking by the sea is different. Some of your plants look similar to ones I photographed on a recent saltmarsh walk: http://wp.me/p3jVw4-XW
You have more sunshine though 🙂

It was defiantly a beautiful day for a walk and a much need break from the daily grind. I did not start the day expecting to see so many amazing flowers. The farther I walked the more flowers I found.

Thanks Amy! I’m happy you love the wildflowers. Getting Maggie to stop and focus (no pun intended) for a photograph is not easy. As you can see in the picture, there was something on the ground that stole her attention as I tried to capture the image. Patrick

I have attempted to plan a return trip but so far it has eluded me. After seeing the pictures I may make it happen this Saturday. If I time it correctly I will have the next hour covered! 😉
