Choosing To Be Happy – No. 73

Maggie gave me several surprises the past several days. For those who are new to my blog, Maggie is my Australia Shepherd who is very smart but lacks focus. She has also been attacked by three dogs in the last year. Needless to say, this has made her a little fearful. While on a walk a few days ago, we saw a dog Maggie knows, Sierra, from when we use to go to the dog park. Maggie gave a warning bark but then settled down for a short visit. A little step in overcoming her fear. Then on Saturday, I was working in the yard and a gate got stuck open but Maggie stayed in the backyard as we have been working on. Last night her friend Sally was visiting but was not feeling well. Maggie kept a watchful eye on Sally and tried to cheer her up and comfort her every time Sally barfed. Thankfully Sally was feeling better today. Maggie has made a lot of progress over the past 19 months since her sister, Becky, moved away. It has not been easy for either of us but life is good.
