I think I will switch over to painting and skip the closet for now. When I wrote a lifetime, it was due to finding a newspaper with my birth announcement.
Right. Now we need a paper copy back-up. Aargh! And at the grocery store they hand you 5 sheets of paper for one receipt. I think next time, I will just decline….
Although I have to say, sometimes I worry that, in my zeal, I have shredded something that I might be asked for later….
The thought of shredding something important has gone through my mind many times. I set those types of documents in a pile and then circled back. Some went in the file and some were shredded. I will no doubt be shredding more. I have started declining receipts for non-critical purchases. Gas stations receipts were the first then, ATM, and it is expanding to others. I recalled how little I had when I first moved out on my own when I was 21 years old. Now I’m getting back to wanting only what I need. If I don’t use something, then a free sign is attached and set on the curb. Usually a hoarder will drive by within an hour and it is gone!
Clever! 🙂

Went from a unreal amount of paperwork down to just two file drawers. With two file cabinets in the basement, there will be a bunch of extra space.

I just went through my walk-in closet. Now I need to clean our file cabinets… 🙂

Our species is good at both depending on and killing trees. 🙂

Computers were touted as eliminating the need for paper. I know for certain that receipts have become much wider and longer.

And that hoarder would be my husband…. 😉

I’m glad there are people like your husband who “re-purposes” my cast aways. Saves me a trip to the thrift store drop-off or dump. 🙂

Drives me crazy though….(he’s either getting better or he’s not telling me about his furtive stops!)

You just made me laugh out loud….and I’m in the cube farm at work. I must say, the one upside of my divorce was getting rid of the hoard.
