This old milk truck belongs to Cloverdale Creamery. It opened for business in 1938 and was owned by Joseph Bauhofer, Jr. who delivered milk into his 80’s. The creamery included a milk processing plant and ice cream parlor that served families for more than 60 years. When I was growing up, these trucks delivered milk and other dairy products to homes and the local schools. This old truck has seen better days. It is parked behind the old dairy building but maybe someday it will be rescued and restored.
When I was a kid the best place to sit was on our silver milk box outside the garage….

We never had a milk box because my dad worked for a dairy and brought home milk. Glad my post brought back good memories. 🙂

We used to have them deliver milk every Saturday – miss those days!

It was a simpler time. While writing this post I learned that The Hub was Cloverdale’s dairy farm. No more open space in the Tri-City area.
