Front Porch Repair – No. 6

The morning and early afternoon were spent on the final preparations and priming of the front porch. After the primer was dry, the afternoon was spent on the first of two coats of paint. After 11 years I was able to have the Kelly Moore store match the existing colors and provide the exact same paint. That by itself makes this old house owner very happy. With any painting project, the preparation takes far more time than the actual painting but taking the time to prepare the surface makes a big the difference in how it turns out. 

Below is a before and after of the damaged corner column. Once the columns are painted the crown moldings will get a coat of a very deep red.  

All-in-all a good day at the Red Dog Estate.
