Several years ago five climbing Roses were planted along the new fence in Maggie’s backyard. Each new plant was nothing but several twigs sticking out of the ground. They needed protection from the protector who runs along the fence warning everyone not to enter. They lived behind a low fence and grew a little taller each year.
Now the Roses have climbed to the top of their trellises and the protective barrier is gone. The blossoms appear to be smiling down on Maggie who is still running the same path.
